No, it doesn’t mean that Bulletstorms and Outriders developers are joining Xbox Game Studios and also, is not the original IP that People Can Fly announced that it was developing for a failed 2K Games publishing deal, but it means more work regardless.
In a regulatory notice that VGC got to see, People Can Fly acknowledged entering in a New Ip project owned by Microsoft and the studio will serve as a main developer along with Xbox Games Studios assets.
The game, which is being called Project Maverick, has a budget of $30 to $50 million and will be 100% funded by Microsoft, so there is my take that some other Xbox Games Studios could be entering as support.
A great way to celebrate its 20th anniversary, but as mentioned, this has nothing to do with another game that is in development and was slated to be a 2K Games branded game before Take-Two decided to end their partnership and not buy the rights of the game project.
People Can Fly still hasn’t shared any update on what the game is about, but it is already a few years in development.
