Yesterday it was the Limited Run Games Showcase 2023 and while I am not covering stores or specialized stores, Limited Run  Games has a special niche on being a bridge of gaming publishing and specifically, classical games being brought to the current gaming generation.

So, at this opportunity I want to highlight the biggest three announcements in this presentation that brought some memories of the classical stage of E3 in a very creative jab.

Limited Run Games announced that it was helping bring back Gex, Tomba and the classical collection of the first Jurassic Park movie-based games.

A true Playstation classic

First, Tomba was announced as a relaunch of the 1997 Tomba! Video game, which was published by Sony Computer Of America as a Playstation exclusive and developed by Japanese Woompee.

The game will be released on a future date for both Playstation 4 and Playstation5 , along with Nintendo Switch as it seems that Sony no longer holds exclusivity on the 20+ year franchise.

Return of Gex

Crystal Dynamics original mascot historically is Gex The Gecko and it is known for its trilogy of games including 1995’s Gex, 1998’s Gex: Enter the Gecko and 1999’s Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko.

With this, it was announced a new game called Gex Trilogy will be launch for the Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox Series S/X and Nintendo Switch with the original games being remake using the LRG’s Carbon Engine

Gex Trilogy release date was not announced

Let us be reminded of Jurassic Park

Already teased a few months ago and celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Jurassic Park film, the collection adds new features to Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park Part 2: The Chaos Continues, including save states for each title, new in-game maps, and various quality-of-life fixes.
