I read already about the rumors of Electronic Arts on getting itself available to be sold or be part of a merging.

If the rumors are true, my take on Electronic Arts conditioning sale/merger that the buyer does not take part of gaming industry is to assure no risk of adding odds that regulator doesn't approve the sale if were another game studio/company.
