HRVST Fest - October 14th, 2017. I met PVRIS for the first time. Little did I know that the first meeting would start because somebody was being an idiot. My wheelchair was a few feet away from me and this lady probably in her 40s I would assume was really drunk and her husband watched her take the wheelchair away from me. Mind you that was a wheelchair that I owned that I brought to the festival with me. I was right near the stage and Lynn the lead singer of PVRIS saw what was going on. She looked at me and she gave me the look of concern like something was wrong. I shook my head and I said: don’t Lynn don’t. She got on the mic and said: somebody get his chair back, I’m not going to do another song till he gets his chair back, and whoever took it, you can get the F outta here. I was embarrassed to be honest but also touched that Lynn stopped the show for me even though the band was running late already with their set. When I got these autographs she joked about writing your number down. I respectfully joked back and said well that’s up to you, I won’t stop you Lynn, I’m not objecting to it. She’s openly lesbian but she makes jokes like that all the time. She could tell I had a good sense of humor. We became friends that day because I could tell she wasn’t herself, I gave her my Twitter handle and I told her that if she ever needed anything at all, anytime she could reach me if she wanted. I needed someone and she was there for me. She said she’d do it again if she had to. Nobody has ever gone to that trouble for me ever but she did.
