• A while ago, #Nintendo submitted a big set of patents locally at Japan that if granted, makes many mechanics of the new Zelda as proprietary.

Now it was revealed that Nintendo submitted a new one where details a joystick that contains a ‘magnetorheological fluid’ (MRF), which changes viscosity depending on the intensity of a magnetic field.

The move is BIG as one of the negative aspect on the life of the Nintendo Switch was the issue known as "drifting" where a joycon sticks could not maintain its absolute zero position provoking troubles for moments that you need 100% of CONTROL of characters/camera movements.

But Nintendo lack of "rush" on solving this situation only limiting to special discounts and a short-lived repair program (legally obligated to add the insult), made the issue almost impossible to solve unless gamers resorted on 3rd parties.

I believe this is Nintendo saying "HELL NO BE ON THIS CRAP AGAIN" on the next Nintendo hardware, heavily suggested to be announced on Spring 2024 and launching at the second half of 2024.

  • Reminding you all that I AM NOT A LEGAL/MERGER expert!

I partially agree that CMA made Microsoft step a landmine after FTC's fiasco on #ActivisionBlizzard prem-injuction.

But then again, CMA STILL is on the fence regardless of this "petty victory" on delaying the inevitable.

  • An interesting #gaming debate within the Pokémon esport community.

But, what's make this different to COD/Destiny/LoL/<insert any esport>?

I can understand (until some stretch) the monetary part of the frustration, but back in the day Game Genie/Gameshark WOULD HAVE NEVER BEING LEGAL in a game's tourney...

Why nowadays has to be different?

  • SCOTUS has denied #Fortnite makers Epic Games on enforcing a App Store ruling of 2021 that is on hold as Apple appealed on its side (App Store payment policy violated California law).

Now Epic will have to sit by and hope that Apple loses the appeal.

This is the latest of the 2020's Epic Vs Apple aftermath that had the exit of Fornite from the App Store after Epic Games legally challenged the 30% cut App Store policy via an update that circumvented the App Store payment API for VBucks acquisitions as precursor.

  • The FTC appeal against Preliminary Injunction lost against Microsoft buying Activision Blizzard got unsealed and this is the agency's rationale to request the 9th Circuit's help:

    1) applied the wrong legal standard, relying on government cases seeking permanent injunctions

    2) erred on Xbox Game Pass consumer benefits over potential foreclosure in multi-game subs

    3) relied too much on Microsoft's cloud gaming agreements

    4) missed potential partial foreclosure strategies

    5) ignored the FTC’s evidence about Microsoft's incentive to foreclose

In the past hour, FTC requested the very same Judge Corley to still issue an Emergency Injunction to avoid the acquisition deal being close (which is rumored to occur between Friday and Monday).
