Sony decided to have the Playstation brand with Television and Movies, which is already a common knowledge. Also it is common knowledge that a Gran Turismo movie is in production and we got some news coming from The Hollywood Reporter, means that there is a possibility that it is already a non-public fact.

The Hollywood Reporter claims to have insiders on the Gran Turismo pre-production area and already can say that actor David Harbour (Hellboy [remake]/Stranger Things/ Black Widow) joined the cast.

THR also claims that District 9/Elysium director Neill Blomkamp, is being given the same tasks for the movie.

As a reminder, the synopsis of the movie says:

"Based on a true story, the film is the ultimate wish fulfillment tale of a teenage Gran Turismo player whose gaming skills won a series of Nissan competitions to become an actual professional race car driver."

David Harbour will play a retired racer that will be the mentor of the teenage Gran Turismo player.

Wh9ile there is no release date for the movie, this will be the second Playstation Productions to reach Theaters after the Uncharted movie with Tom Holland and Mark Walhberg and not going directly to streaming services.
