For those who have studied Management or Business Administration, you know that there is a time when your company needs to capitalize on positive metris like revenue and so on. But unfortunately, it means a job cut as much as it is a drastically heartless thing to do.
As reported originally by Axios, Sony Interactive Entertainment as parent company of Playstation, has decided to cut 90 employees and freeze their position to be filled in the future.
The layoff apparently comes after two weeks prior today, employees were told that “transformation” was coming but in reality, this comes as Sony is about to close its fiscal year 2022.
Reportedly, the layoff concentrated on North America operations, impacting the merchandise team including PlayStation representatives who would interact with physical retail locations and marketing team.
Probably we will be hearing this in next Sony’s Investor Conference after the opening of the fiscal year 2023.
