What My Gaming/Streaming Future Could Be...
This might end up being one of the hardest things I have to do... but at the same time some of this might be out of my control.
For those that know me on a personal level. Know that back in March. I moved away from my hometown for a job. I moved to some small country freaking town in the middle of nowhere Illinois. I knew moving here there would be some hiccups but not nearly as what I've been experiencing.
The internet here is the same as what I had back home. Same company. Same bundle. All that but we actually for whatever reason due to the town we only get half of that. Now at first the internet was fine. Except for one small issue. Which we finally addressed a few months in and we addressed that issue. It turned into a nightmare.
For the last 5 months I've had some of the worst internet imaginable. I'd drop frames on stream. My games would lag. And it was just a little bit at a time. However with in the last week. It's so bad that I can't play a single game. I can't run a single stream. My roommate and I can't even play fortnite together. It's just the worst.
We've had a technician out two weeks ago. Replaced the equipment. Didn't fix the problem. We scheduled another appointment. To which after we explained the biggest issue is we have over 50% of packet loss with our internet. We would told there was nothing they could do and if they did come out. They'd charge us. So we canceled.
It got even worse so we contacted corporate and then they sent someone out today. He said it could be a couple things. He Replaced a couple pieces and wiring. As of this morning the internet was doing better but its always been touch and go. Always happens at night and when I along with my roommate are at home. Trying to game/stream. So therefore I'm not very confident the issue is fixed.
That being said if it isn't fixed. I've officially exhausted my options and there isn't much else I can do. Until I move / buy a house. However I'll still be living in the same town and if this is just the type of service we have. There isn't much I can do at all.
Not to mention. I've been highly discouraged with streaming and my content anyway. I kind of made goals for myself in January and I'm nowhere near close to any of those goals. Streaming and content creating has never been about money for me but the fact I'm not anywhere further now than when I started this journey its very discouraging and just makes me wonder if this is for me. Hell, I'd say I'm worst off now than a year ago. Least a year ago I was kind of doing decent. All this time energy, money, and time put into this just doesn't seem like its worked out but I kept my head high and I kept doing my best.
And now it seems like my hands are being tied on this situation. Which really sucks because streaming, content creating, and video gaming has always been my escape on life. Especially since I live such a stressful life with work and such. To have that possibly be taken from me and being forced to give it up. It sucks. It really sucks. It does nothing for my mental health. Someone that suffers from depression and such having the one joy that have taken from them is just... not good.
I don't know if this is the end of me in streaming or gaming just yet. It at least appears that could be the case. There's a silver of hope this works but like I said not likely. However if this is the end of an Era for me personally. I want that small percentage of you that did support me and did everything they could to help me. I want you to know I'm thankful and I won't forget it. I'm talking about people like Pervy, Caz, Mamba, Tonga, Breezus, Yuki, and a few others. Yall have made this journey something even if it didn't end the way I wanted.
Also just because this could be the end of gaming/streaming for me. It doesn't mean anything like I'm leaving RAWNATION. I'll still be around. I'll still do my part as an owner. I'll still help people out. And it doesn't mean I'm leaving Twitter or Twitch completely. I'll still be a viewer. I'll still support the homies. I'll still be a message away. I just won't be able to do what I once did or actively be gaming with yall. It's saddening but like I said my hands might be tied. I'm hoping this works and I'm hoping that I'll be able to find my groove again. But if not like I said I want you to know I appreciate you and all you've done for me.
