CD Projekt Red recently told investor that the next #TheWitcher game has entered pre-production and have over 400 devs (or studio's 60% of dev workforce) working on in & expect full dev phase by second half of 2024. This is part of the so-called Project Polaris, which aims a to have a new The Witcher game trilogy in a 6 years period starting with the release of the first one. Also and talking to local press, CD Projekt Red acknowledged that single player games are not compatible with micro-transaction or for their POV, they don't see a place for microtransaction but, cannot be ruled out on multiplayers games. While Netflix is at full steam in pre-production of #TheWitcher Season 4 and the debut of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt Of Rivia, we will have The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep in 2024. The storyline of the animated movie is based on the on the short story A Little Sacrifice compiled on Sword Of Destiny book or unofficially called Book 0.2, where Geralt unwillingly at first, got involved in a conflict between merfolks and humans. (The story begins on Blood Of Elves or Book 1 while Book 0.1: The Last Wish & Book 0.2 are compiled short stories that Andrzej Sapkowski published originally for the community to give proper backstory of Geralt, setting and relationship overview with both Yeneffer & Ciri) The pleasant surprise while Geralt undeniably looks like either a proto Henry Calvill or maybe a proto Liam Hermsworth IMO, it was good to know that Doug Cockle, the voice actor of Geralt in The Witcher videogame series, is actually voicing Geralt in here too. The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is slated for a late 2024 release, while the production of The Witcher Season 4 status is unknow, precisely streaming services revenue shares was one of the main issues during the SAG-AFTRA strikes. Wanting to push the week forward, CD Project Red has started teasing that it has started work on a new The Witcher title and while it could be a spin-off rather than "The Witcher 4", it has been heard that it will be developed with Unreal. Engine 5. Apparently the use is due to its recent association with Epic Games and it is not that they abandoned their proprietary engine RED Engine 2.0 and obviously it will now be fully used in Cyberpunk 2077. With this union, CD Projekt Red assures that they will use all the fruits for the continuous development of RED Engine, although it does not make ANY SENSE to me, if the efforts of new games will be with Unreal Engine 5.
