I found something online about me from two years ago when I was in a very dark place and at the height of my struggle with alcohol. It really shook me and triggered all those feelings I suffered from during that time to come flooding back, especially with the callous way people were discussing one of my blackouts. I've worked so hard for the past year to be sober and try to become a better person, but somehow seeing that people were watching and laughing really makes me feel sick.

I really need to vent about something, so if you're not interested in my personal stuff go ahead and skip this post;

So a lot of people don't really know this (because I can't talk about it on my personal social media) but for the last two and a half months I have been taking care of my dad through a series of medical problems. I took time off work to help around the house after some minor heart surgery, but a complication set off a series of events that triggered his liver to begin failing. I've used all my PTO and have burned through most of my FMLA. I haven't had a paycheck in almost two months. And now dad is going to have his liver transplanted, which means more time off to help him as he recovers. I'm going to lose my job, either because I run out of time off and refuse to abandon my dad, or I choose to walk away before they get the chance... This is such an unfair situation. I should be free to take care of the people I love without worrying about a job or money. Who else is going to do this for my family? No one. That's who.
