Despite the best effort that Overwatch 2 launch is as seamless as possible for both players and themselves, it seems that Blizzard Entertainment is already in the need to improve communication and especially, with the paid aspect of the newest fps free-to-play, namely, the Battle Pass.
After a surge of people posting about requesting Blizzard a refund for the Overwatch 2 Battle pass, Blizzard vice president Jon Spector tweeted the following:
All starter when a Kikiro on Overwatch 2's description originally stated that premium battle pass users get access to Overwatch 2’s newest hero Kiriko.
But then, the Watchpoint Pack’s description was later changed, removing the reference to Kiriko and how she could be obtained through the premium battle pass and with this, many Heroes in Overwatch 2 will be behind the Battle Pass, some of them via grinding instead of paying.
Of course, this triggered alarm as this kind of game for example, relies on heavy balancing to face a team and/or changing a hero mid-match can now feel troublesome if original heroes are not available on day 1.
We have to see what corrections or clarification Blizzard Entertainment can come up to this month, before the launch of Overwatch 2.
