Well it was kind of mentioned semi explicitly but here comes the official news and if you are a PSVR owner and were hoping that you could play your PSVR games on the PSVR 2, wel, Sony got some bad news for you.

On their official podcast, Sony confirmed that Playstation VR 2 or simply PSVR 2 is a whole new platform itself and will not run PSVR games.

While the episode was not focused on that detail, (timestamp for the PSVR 2 not backward compatible is at approx 29:10), Sony decided to talk about recent announced PSVR 2 and Playstation5 games coming in 2023 including Horizon Call of the Mountain, Star Wars Tales From the Galaxy’s Edge – Enhanced Edition, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution, God of War Ragnarök and reactions from State of Play reveals.
