While many expected big announcements from Konami in the past edition of Tokyo Game Show (at least one big return to jRPG but no Metal Gear in the horizon), the Japanese gaming company did indeed make a new one.

Unfortunately for gamers crypto doubters, we got another development and Konami via their Konami Digital Entertainment, will be constructing their own division for Web3 content that will include their IPs entering a blockchain, crypto and NFTs.

While not saying they are officially joining Oasys, the virtually de facto blockchain of gaming, Konami said that hiring specific team members will have the task of continuing the research and development of this and new technology.

The company aims to use their NFTs in the future for in-game items, as well as participate in fan communities and events, and interact with other services and communities to further expand the user experience.
