While most of the year, Dark Souls III PC Version server’s have been more off than on, the original Dark Souls probably will now be turned off completely and perpetually with a surprising update from developers FromSoftware.

The best explanation that was given is that the game became too old to be maintained and while having 2 other Dark Souls games, Bloodborne and Elden Ring, probably FromSoftware felt it was time to mitigate redundancy and maybe player’s count didn’t justify having the server active.

Keep in mind that this is for the original version of Dark Souls game as the Remastered are awaiting the resotral of Dark Souls server in general to be back online.
