Starting as a big surprising rumor, it became reality and while it is true that Sony and Playstation have the right for the console version of Death Stranding, Kojima Productions's first post-Konami game indeed is heading to Xbox, but not as you think.

While Death Stranding was indeed a Playstation exclusive, the game itself is not FULLY a CONSOLE exclusive and that is why Kojima Productions entered in a publishing agreement with 505 Games to have the PC version of the game be official.

Xbox was not in the conversation but evidently, some string where indeed moved and 505 Games practically served as the middle-man to allow Death Stranding and Xbox to coincide in a same sentence, but of course is the PC version of Xbox Game Pass, NOT the consoles or specifically Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X as probably and is not a secret that Sony invested initially on the game to actually try to prevent any of this and probably why Xbox consoles will ever see the game is due this fact.

Also I have to include myself here, probably we will not see the game arriving at Game Pass Cloud either as this will allow Xbox consoles to be used for the game, but time will tell at the end of the day.

The game will be appearing on the Xbox app of Windows on August 23.

Death Stranding is set in the United States following a cataclysmic event which caused destructive creatures to begin roaming the Earth. Players control Sam Porter Bridges (Norman Reedus), a courier tasked with delivering supplies to isolated colonies and reconnecting them via a wireless communications network. Alongside Reedus, the game features actors Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Margaret Qualley, Troy Baker, Tommie Earl Jenkins, and Lindsay Wagner, in addition to the likenesses of film directors Guillermo del Toro and Nicolas Winding Refn as supporting characters.

The game was release originally for Playstation 4 on 2019 after Hideo Kojima founded Kojima Productions, based on the Konami's first party studios that he led during his tenure that brought franchise like Snatchers, Policenauts and Metal Gear (actually the team was named Kojima Productions officially after the launch of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Kojima being promoted to VP at Konami).

While details has not been clear (and probably will never be), Kojima's career on Konami ended because of a constant power struggle within the company that costed his position after Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain apparently, failed to be within budget as Konami conditioned to green light another Metal Gear Solid game.

Reportedly the failure was used as an enough reason to oust him out of the company after MGSV marketing campaign ended.
