Before Xbox, Microsoft was high on PC Gaming and while not directly competing with consoles in the early days, Microsoft added some hits and Age Of Empires is one of them and we gave some good news.
Microsoft revealed that a remake Age of Empires 2 and (finally) Age Of Empires IV are heading to Xbox next year, and that an Age of Mythology Definitive Edition is in the works for PC.
Let’s start with Age Of Empires 2 remake and titled Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, will be launched on Xbox by January 31st and following and since 5 years since it was first announced as a development title, Age Of Empires IV will follow by during 2023 for Xbox and Game Pass Cloud.
For Age Of Empires IV, we expect eight civilizations available at launch: the Abbasid Dynasty, the Chinese, the Delhi Sultanate, the English, the French, the Holy Roman Empire, the Mongols, and the Rus.
Also, Age Of Empires 4 revisits the Middle Ages and incorporates several features and mechanics of Age of Empires II that were changed or removed in Age of Empires III.
Finally Age of Mythology ReTold is a spinoff of Age Of Empires takes some of its inspiration from mythology and legends of the Greeks, Egyptians, and Norse, rather than from actual historical events, and will be a remake of the original 2002 game and will be a Xbox PC Game Pass only game.
