The gaming industry knows that nostalgia sells and a surprising collectible item went out of nowhere for sale and for those who wanted more historic games and how Atari keeps capitalizing on his half a century anniversary, here is another one.

With this, Atari has a preorder open for a limited edition 50th anniversary Atari XP box set of physical Atari 2600 games for $999.99, including: Adventure, Missile Command, Warlords, Super Breakout, Crystal Castles, Haunted House, Yars’ Revenge, Centipede, Asteroids and Gravitar.

Of course, for those who noticed, these were the exact same items that you could buy each game individually for $99.99 each some time ago, and they went sold out as of the writing of this.

Luckily buyers  interested can get the WHOLE COLLECTION and with each game, contains new artwork, a hard enamel collectible pin, a collectible patch and a custom acrylic cartridge stand.

And of course the true value of this is that each cartridge will play on original Atari 2600 hardware, and has been designed to light up while the console is turned on.

Atari claimed to have made only 100 units for sale and while it is plausible that they will go out of stock quickly, it would be nice that Atari commissions more in the near future.
