As I warned that I would not be part of any April’s Fool Foolishness, I was very skeptical of EVERYTHING I read this past saturday, including the announced Asus ROG Ally, which actually happened to be a true Steam Deck competitor contender.

Asus confirmed on Twitter that the actual thing presented this past Saturday is real and will be a device based on AMD architecture, a customized Ryzen APU and while not going to be specific at this time, claims it is the fastest custom Ryzen yet.

The Asus ROG Ally will reportedly sport a 7 inches full HD display at 16:9 aspect with 120Hz of image update frequency at 5ms, but apparently, it will have its noise as a weak point against Steam Deck as it can reach of 20dB (Steam Deck can land a 37dB level of noise).

Needless to say that Asus is looking for a better date and platform for going in depth with Asus ROG Ally’s details, probably by June at the NO E3 season.
