One of my biggest disappointment of Tekken 7 is the lack of crossplay during it’s almost 7 year run and mainly Tekken Director Katsuhiro Harada was well-aware of the desire but legality, corporatism and lack of partnership prevented all this.

Based on a recent tweet of Katsuhiro Harada, pretty much Tekken 8 could be a different story regarding crossplay.

This is what I meant on “lack of partnership prevented“ as HArada himself confirmed that if it was for him, Tekken 7 would have been crossplayed since day 1, but you know, corporations gotta be corporate and mainly Sony is my main target of being accused of being corporate.

For a technical point of view, I don’t see Tekken 8 crossplay from day one, but the general adoption of the netcode rollback as a backend of online gameplay and bein cross-platform, I would speculate that we will see crossplay between Playstation 5, Xbox Series S/X and PC by late Year 1 or early Year 2 of Tekken 8 release.
