One of the biggest criticisms of Sony having Playstation exploring Cloud Gaming with PS Plus is basically the Playstation 3 and PSP offerings and nothing else. But this June, things are turning up for Playstation 5 and PS Plus Premium.
Sony announced today that it will begin testing more uncharted waters with Playstation 5 titles being run on Cloud Gaming environment for a public release under the PS Plus Premium.
“We’re currently testing cloud streaming for supported PS5 games – this includes PS5 titles from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and Game Trials, as well as supported digital PS5 titles that players own.”
Of course, Sony is not limiting the usage of Playstation 5 in a broad scale, BUT, regardless if you are going PC or mobile, there is a requirement that you need a Playstation 5 console, which pretty much confirms the scale of the final product of Project Q will cover.
A hardware to put Remote Play on steroids in other words.
For now, Sony hasn’t shared what games are going to be part of this internal testing and if they will be the first releases (tech-speaking, it should be obvious) and how long testing to public launch will take, so stay tuned if you are interested.
