The expected Ray Pathing capacity of Nvidia’s current generation DLSS called OVerdrive Mode in Cyberpunk 2077 is live in the newest patch or Patch 1.62 but hold your horses if you happen to have a high tier Lovelace architecture GPU.

CD Projekt Red has deployed Patch 1.62 which includes GPU tune-in for everyone, but for Nvidia based GPUs, the dawn of OVerdrive Mode in the form of a preview or not “a finished product”.

Overdrive Mode uses DLSS 3 as a product of mixing AI and GeForce RTX Tensor Cores to boost frame rates while maintaining great image quality. In October, Nvidia released DLSS 3, adding new Frame Generation technology that enables DLSS performance boosts of up to 4X over native rendering.

Early testing has the OVerdrive averaging 131fps on a 1440p screen with a high tier built PC and including RTX GeForce 4090 and without DLSS, 13fps, so yeah, the capacity is demanding indeed as CD Projekt Red acknowledge that a same setup can have 1080p at 30fps.

Patch 1.62 include a tweak on Benchmarking to have more results on performance regardless of the setup and brand of your GPU and finally, for people that have gave Intel an opportunity, Cyberpunk 2077 gains support for Intel Xe Super Sampling 1.1, an upscaling technology using machine learning to provide improved performance with high image quality. It can be enabled in Settings > Graphics in the Resolution Scaling section.
