Finally, Sony is ready for the result of the Project Leonardo or the take of Playstation with a proper accessibility controller for the Playstation 5 and will finally be released just in time by the Holiday season.
Sony confirmed today that the product of Project Leonardo, the Access Controller, will be released on December 6 of 2023 and preorders period will start on July 21st at $89.99 as MSRP.
As originally announced, the Access Controller is a new highly customizable controller kit that works “out of the box” to help many players with disabilities play games more easily, more comfortably, and for longer periods.
Working directly with AbleGamers, SpecialEffect and Stack Up, Sony said that the goal is to have a Playstation 5 controller highly configurable that works in tandem with many third-party accessibility accessories.
The device aims to give the player complete independence or if needed, it can have a DualSense to serve as a supporting or having a family member or friend assisting the player.
For audio assistance, Access Controller includes our 3.5mm AUX ports to support a variety of external switches and third-party accessibility accessories, meanwhile physically, its symmetric design allows players to reposition the analog sticks as close together or as far apart as they like.
