One thing that this current and past generation of gaming has taught us, is that Nintendo can have its bad days but knows how to make a comeback and maintain the trends and yes, it is admirable that Nintendo Switch being technically “inferior” has managed to make Playstation and Xbox run for their money.

A surprising update on EA Sports FC 24 this week is actually a tout by Electronic Arts on feeling comfortable to say that the Nintendo Switch version of their first soccer game without FIFA is a huge achievement.

EA VP/Executive producer John Shepherd told IGN that the EA Sport FC 24 Nintendo Switch version will feel much in par with the Playstation 4 and Xbox One version and he is not coming from nowhere.

Since FIFA 19, Electronic Arts has been accused of making a poor effort on making a port of the game and limiting on just releasing for the sake of doing sales with Nintendo hardware and even at FIFA 23, the games just felt a poor-effort release.

“It’s going to have all the modes. It’s more representative of the Xbox One, PS4 gameplay, than it would be the PlayStation 5, latest-gen gameplay. There are a few differences, just because of the hardware, but the game’s running great.”

Shepherd claims that Nintendo Switch version of FC 24 took the project as a big one and this was thanks to the effort on optimizing their in-house game engine Frostbite to be as scalable as possible to make possible a parallel development on each platform where the game will be available.

As per Electronic Arts, EA Sports FC 24 is rebuilt from scratch with a new version of EA’s own game engine Frostbite and includes a new version of the technology called Hypermotion V, which the company says makes it possible to create new animations for the game in a matter of days. There’s also a new technology called “playstyles,” which utilizes real-world player data to create more lifelike recreations of actual players.

Already used in past games by the way.

Answering the FIFA-less aspect of the games, EA already confirmed that the game will include content via partnership with Premier League and the UEFA Champions League and already landed a big sponsorship deal on real-life games of the respective leagues.

Also includes UEFA Women’s Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League, UEFA Super Cup, the Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga and Liga F.

There will be a mobile game to complement EA Sports FC 24 called FC Tactical, described as a turn-based take on the sport.

EA has also confirmed that women will feature in FIFA Ultimate Team for the first time in franchise history.

Pro Clubs mode will feature cross-play for the first time in franchise history too.

EA Sports FC 24 will officially launch on September 29th for the Playstation 4, Playstation5, Xbox Series S/X, PC and Nintendo Switch with the clarification that crossplay between players will be with PS5, Xbox Series S/X and PC versions, which is an obvious weak point on the Nintendo Switch version if it happens that people will go for the full console route.
