Is true that the following is not a gaming news at all, but Nvidia’s core business is about computing and graphical processing and it is not only limited to gaming and most advantages can be used in general terms.

This week, Nvidia revealed how they developed what is known as Instant Neural Radiance Fields or Instant NeRF, which is a technology that was started by a consortium founded by UC Berkeley, Google Research, and UC San Diego in 2020.

A simple explanation on what the technology does practically gives us a 3D POV of a photograph that, as commonly known, is 2D.

To achieve this remarkable technique is that the computing device that would make the process, maps the color and light intensity of different 2D shots, then generates data to connect these images from different vantage points and render a finished 3D scene.

Nvidia sees using Instant NeRF to create avatars or scenes for virtual worlds, to capture video conference participants and their environments in 3D, or to reconstruct scenes for 3D digital maps or in simple words, they took a step for the metaverse fever of this decade.

The company admits that there is much work to be done for the technology to be harnessed for general consumer use, but seems that the road might not be too long.
