It was not a secret that Epic Games was getting ready to help developers acquire the power the new current generation of gaming can push on and Unreal Engine in its fifth form is official and stable.

Coniciding with the launch of Xbox Series s/X and Playstation 5, Epic Games released an early access of Unreal Engine 5 to get a notion on how the current gen can power up gaming.

Today, Unreal Engine 5 became official with the first stable release publicly available and to be a proper presentation, Epic Games published Lumen in the Land of Nanite, a tech demo that was made to specifically demonstrate two of the main features of Unreal Engine 5. Lumen is a dynamic illumination tool where the light adapts to the world naturally and easily.

Epic Games admitted that the main purpose of the fifth generation of Unreal Engine is to push more Open World games beyond their current boundaries and toolset that promises even more photorealistic scenery and worlds.

Unreal Engine 5 is aimed to power up games for Playstation 5, Xbox Series S & X, PC, macOS, iOS and Android, along with Playstation 4 and Xbox One support.
