Seems that AMD is not the only one refreshing current line up for making space for the next generation of its product as Intel already wants to clear the path for its Intel Core i9 processor as momentum was lost with the AMD Ryzen 7 58003DX, at least in gaming speaking.
And not only for the i9, but also another 6 processors falling into the HX series which are the refresh of the current Alder Lake Series.
It is true that Intel has fallen behind in terms of design with a much smaller manufacturing process in contrast to AMD, where Intel still struggles to go past the 12nm, but with the HX, Intel has achieved a little step and added a more mobile SoC design in the new Alder Lake HX series.
The new processors include the Core i9-12950-HX, i9-12900HZ, i7-12850-HX, i712800-HX, i7-12650-XH, i5-12600-HX and the i5-12450-HX and the first six have up to 16 cores (8 Performance-cores and 8 Efficient-cores and 24 threads running at a processor base power of 55 watts while the i5-12450-HX have 4 Performances-cores.
Particularly with the i9-12950-HX, Intel claims that it has a 17% increase in single-thread, 64% in multi-thread tasks and 81% of 3D processor in comparison to its predecessor, the i9-11980-HK.
Intel expects more than 10 workstation and gaming designs powered by 12th Gen Intel Core HX to be launched this year.
