The Lovelace architecture family of Nvidia GPU had a very strange jumpstart because evidently, Nvidia is not only thinking of gamers and pretty much explained the 2 tier GeForce 4080 and later turned to a 4070 Ti fiasco.

Now in April 2022 and more than half a year after the announcement of the Lovelace architecture family Nvidia made a stop on rumors and leaks officially announcing the RTX GeForce 4070.

The specs include 12GB GDDR6X VRAM, AD104 5nm 1.92 GHz processing unit, PCIe 4.0 x16, capable of transmitting data at 504.2 GB/s, 5888 shading units, 184 Tensor units and 46 RT Cores.

The GeForce 4070  is DLSS 3 capable with over 100fps with Ray Tracing activated at 1400p screens.

Nvidia said that the GPU is matching GeForce 3080’s power at 1440p or 2K screens but those who want a seamless experience on 4K and money is not an issue, go to the 4080 if you want the latest power in the 4K category.

One of the things that already some people are finding attractive of this GPU is actually the physical size, which many have said that it should have been the standard to begin with in Lovelace era and with a physical size of 9.4 x 4.3 x 1.6 inches, many small case can finally be upgraded or built on the newest generation of GPU by Nvidia.

The RTX 4070 will be available on April 13th priced starting at $599 for Nvidia’s own Founders Edition model, but obviously the price will vary between partners OEM and their specific design including overclocking, etc.
