As it was scheduled, today Blizzard Entertainment gave more clarity on what should be expected in the first months of the new life of Overwatch with Overwatch 2 and to repeat for those who are still not believing it, the game will be free-to-play.

Practically Blizzard described the roadmap for Overwatch 2 on their presentation and beside SoJourn and Junker Queen will be joined by a third unannounced hero as Overwatch debutants and also, 6 original maps being the fictional futuristic of Rome, New York, Toronto, Rio de Janeiro, Monaco and Portugal.

Blizzard focused on the backstory of Junker Queen and was revealed to be an actual leader of a place called Junkertown and again, here battle abilities were showcased.

Expecting that monetization will be big as the game will not have its base being sold like the original Overwatch, Blizzard confirmed that loot boxes will not be used and instead, the game's revenue will be seasonal battle passes with each season bringing free DLCs for players either way.

Like this kind of "freemium" games, Overwatch 2 will have a proper store for cosmetic and other day-to-day DLCs.

Taking a queue from Halo Infinite, Overwatch will have weekly challenges that will improve player's characters above the average, assuring engaging and replay value.

Overwatch 2 will have a second and final BETA which consoles (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and Nintendo Switch) joins PC on June 28th and the early acces of the game will launch at October 4th but only the PvP mode and the Season 1.

Season 2 will bring a New Tank Hero and a 7th new map and finally in 2023, probably Season 3 through 6 will bring more content and the PvE mode.

Interest in the Overwatch eSport League, unfortunately there was no mention on how things will roll in 2023 but we can be sure that we will be hearing soon about this.
