This week we were introduced to Dark Passenger and this new gaming studio is actually a lot of veteran developers from CD Projekt Red, particularly original members of The Witcher III and Cyberpunk 2077 team.

As IGN highilted, the studio has opened their website, confirming they are on the market for hiring employees at roles including development, artistic and technical role as they are working on their debuting game.

The proposed first product is a multiplayer online game set in Feudal Japan that tells the story of an invader that overthrew the ruling shogun and established a new throne.

Players needs to expect to have the role of shinobi and kunoichi with classes and characters customization, where they will face the ruler’s underlings and other assassins as they search for powerful mysterious artifacts and multiple ways to traverse the land, such as running on city rooftops, climbing pagodas, and sneaking through shrines and temples.

The game will have Unreal Engine 5 as the graphical engine and will include the co-op, PvP, and PvE modes as goals.

Obviously the game has no release date but aims for Playstation 5, Xbox Series S/X and PC as targeted platforms.

Dark Passenger was founded 3 months ago if we follow main staff's LinkedIn profiles, including Jakub Ben as co-founder and CEO, originally a 3D Cinematic expert for The Witcher III and Cyberpunk 2077, along with Paweł Kuleta as COO & former Production Director for CD Projekt Red's in-house studio and Magdalena Furman as the lead 3D Animator, same role that served at CDPR.
