Well, many believed that Katsuhiro Harada would have taken over the stage during the Tekken 7 EVO 2022 tournament to announce something related onb the future of Tekken including Tekken 8.

While Harada-san never took the stage (and he tweeted that he was among the crowd), Bandai Namco did have something to tell us.

Right after a free update for Tekken 7 was set for late August, footage from Kazuya’s original Tekken ending played and then transitioned to a real next-gen look of Kazuya's iconic grin with the label “Get Ready”.

Bandai Namco, nor Katsuhiro Harada have said what is behind the footage but evidently, next Tekken game has begun development and speculation already weights that the usage of original 1994 Tekken footage was to tip that Tekken remake is what’s next, I highly doubt they leave the cliffhanger of Tekken 7’s lore untouched for the next decade.

Beside, Kazuya’s scar and the permanent Left Devil Eye is Tekken 4 and onwards so I say that Tekken 8 is what’s next.

But buckle up and be comfortable at your chair, as I am PRETTY SURE that Bandai Namco is not abandoning the Arcade First-Then Console launch as I want to remind you that consoles/PC Tekken 7 is in reality Tekken 7 Dark Retribution, Tekken 7’s expansion to include the Kazumi Mishima-Gouki/Akuma connection and intro him in Tekken lore.

As for the free update called Battle Update, Tekken 7 players will see the updated Bandai Namco logo, Balance Adjustment and New Tactics that will probably have people with some re-learning using their favorite characters.

Finally, Bandai Namco confirmed that the Tekken World Tour will be starting soon and finals will return to AMsterdam for February 4-5, 2023.
