While it was not an obligation to follow Ubisoft or Bethesda, at least IO Interactive wants Stadia players to carry on and not lose progression with HITMAN I, II & III at least if PC is the chosen platform.

Well, I guess that a PC giveaway of the HITMAN trilogy was over-hoping.

Reminder: Ubisoft said that plans to make PC version of bought Stadia games be granted via Ubisoft Connect launcher meanwhile, Bethesda will have The Elder Scrolls Online cross-progression/cross-purchase with Stadia & PC so you are not losing progression, DLCs & expansions.

In a follow-up on the aftermath of Google announcing the wind-down and cancellation of Stadia:

*Ubisoft confirmed to The Verge, that all game invested on the Cloud Gaming platform, will be given to players via the Ubisoft Connect and those who started an Ubisoft+ via Stadia will be getting news soon.
*IO Interactive, the developers of the HITMAN latest game series, will be given news soon too.
*Splash Damage, developers for the Stadia-exclusive Outcasters, are sorting out how they can port the game elsewhere (it is rumored that Google still holds the rights and they were also blindsided of Stadia EOL announcement without even let them know before hand as the rest of devs that ported and/or developed games for Stadia).
*Google probably will refund devs that ported games at Stadia & if it happens, Bryant Chappel of The Nerf Report, estimates that the sum of the refunds can go almost $1 billion.

And adding the consumer's refund, End Of Fiscal Year 2023 for Alphabet "Other bets" section will be a hot topic all right.
