CD Projekt Red delivered a promised new Night City Wire edition for Cyberpunk 2077 as we got more content for the latest original game and finally, we got some word on the game's first expansion for everyone.

First thing first and while the first minutes were dedicated to Cyberpunk Edgerunners, the Netflix exclusive anime based on the franchsie, the game will be receiving an Edgerunners update on the very minute you are reading this.

The update includes a story-driven scenario that gives you the role of David Martinez, the protagonist of Edgerunners, in a tale taking place alongside the events of the main Cyberpunk 2077 game.

Phantom Liberty is the game's first expansion

Announced alongside legendary actor Keanu Reeves, CD Projekt Red confirmed that the first expansion of Cyberpunk 2077 will be called Phantom Liberty and this means that we are bound to see more V and Johnny Silverhand as a unlikely "duo" as probably Reeves have recorded new dialogues.

There wasn't much shared but the expansion IS NOT coming for Playstation 4 or Xbox One so, you better have that next-gen upgrade with either Playstation 5, Xbox Series S/X or opt to either Stadia or PC to have the expansion due for 2023.

It means that PS4/Xbox One will have Patch 1.6 (Edgerunners update) as the last patch and then CD Projekt Red will focus on next-gen version and in schedule is a a complete overhaul of the police system and vehicle-to-vehicle combat.

Cyberpunk Production Director departs CD Projekt Red

Before the Night City Wire stream, it was noted by many outlets that Production Director for Cyberpunk 2077, Jędrzej Mróz, had left the company as he updated his LinkedIn profile marking the end of his tenure at the polish studio since 2007.

He originally started as junior QA specialist in 2007 and ascended as a lead producer in 2010 for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings on PC and finally in 2012, was promoted as Production Director for Cyberpunk 2077 in 2012.
