Definitely 15 years in the making, Assassin’s Creed became one of the principal Intellectual Property for Ubisoft and in the celebration of more than a decade and a half, Ubisoft is ready to continue the journey with not one, two, but MANY Assassin’s Creed projects in the making.

Mirage is what next

While Assassin‘s Creed Mirage was NO secret in the coming days of Ubisoft Forward, we were eager to see what the game was about and Ubisoft did deliver.

Mirage focuses on Basim Ibn Ishaq, otherwise known as Loki in Valhalla, in what was once predicted to be a major DLC for Valhalla as the game takes 20 years prior to the events of Valhalla.

Basim is plagued with nightmarish visions of demons and has a tragic past, so it's up to you to keep him on the straight and narrow path of the Hidden Ones to fulfill his destiny—or words to that effect. As is pretty common in Assassin's Creed, many historical and political figures will feature in the game, though none have been revealed yet.

This time, Ubisoft decided that the game needed to return to its root where stealth and infiltration-style gameplay.

Assassin's Creed Mirage launches in 2023 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC, Amazon Luna, and will also be available on PC with a Ubisoft+ subscription.

Last night there was quite a conversation in social media including Stadia fans as Ubisoft, first time since joining Google for Project Stream and today’s known as Stadia, it is the first game that the Google Cloud Gaming Platform is not receiving.

There has been speculation including Google pushing brakes on investment due the game coming to its direct competitor Amazon Luna, but we shall see if this is a part of a long term plan that either way sees the game being launched on Stadia either way.

But wait! There’s more (main games in development)!

Ubisoft via Marc-Alexis Côté, announced the Assassin’s Creed Infinity initiative and is practically a series of new Assassin’s Creed games in development that will come after the Assassin’s Creed Mirage marketing campaign. Ubisoft explained that Infinity is going to be a hub that will unite all their different experiences and AC players together in meaningful ways.

The two announced games where Codename Red is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec, under the leadership of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Immortals Fenyx Rising creative director Jonathan Dumont.

Côté also revealed a second game that is in development for the Infinity platform: Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe. It is in development at Ubisoft Montreal and directed by Clint Hocking, the director of Far Cry 2, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, and Watch Dogs: Legion. It was described by Côté as “a new flagship title” and “a very different type of Assassin’s Creed game”.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: The Last Chapter is what’s left for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Ubisoft is closing the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with a FREE DLC called The Last Chapter and in this expansion, Eivor announces that she’s ready to leave her Viking camp and “set forth for distant shores and new adventures.”

The Last Chapter will be offered for free and will be available in the coming months.

Assassin’s Creed for Netflix is in development

After a rocky debut in theaters, Ubisoft is ready to give Assassin’s Creed a Round 2 in Television, but this time at the hands of Netflix.

Ubisoft and Netflix are working together on an Assassin's Creed live-action TV series, as was confirmed back in 2020. More details on the project emerged at Ubisoft Forward today, with Marc-Alexis Cote of Ubisoft Quebec confirming the show is "still early in development."

Ubisoft Film and Television is producing the show alongside Netflix and showrunner Jeb Stuart. Stuart wrote the iconic action movies Die Hard and The Fugitive, and more recently wrote Netflix TV show Vikings: Valhalla.
