While rumors about the GeForce and GPU’s effort of Nvidia have been conflicting and signals that Nvidia is going for some troubling days, we might have an example of how things are really going and PC part manufacturer EVGA is no longer producing in-house GPU based on Nvidia designs.
The news is not official but already GamersNexus and JayzTwoCents have sat down with EVGA CEO Andrew Han and while the story is not at spotlight, he claims that one of the main issues is that Nvidia have been “disrespectful”.
EVGA apparently is done with the GPU market in general as there are no plans on substituting Nvidia as a partner (which would have let AMD or Intel being the alternative) and employees on the GPU brand will be moved in other areas.
Current stock of the FTW3 GPUs brand is what's left and no more units will be produced, but EVGA will withhold some units for Warranty fulfilling purposes.
Also, EVGA doesn’t plan to enter a new market and will be keeping selling power supplies, coolers and motherboards until further notice.
This evidently put Nvidia in a position in which they probably will be defending themselves if EVGA officially comes forward and explains what was disrespectful to them, but B2B speaking, probably EVGA denied some request and maybe pressure from Nvidia, but this is speculation of course.
Another speculation of mine is that maybe heads will be rolling at Nvidia if EVGA partnership being abruptly terminated was not part of ANY PLAN.
