Probably by their next earnings report, CD Projekt Red not only will say that the patches and fixes to Cyberpunk 2077 was a reason for sales increase, but the well-received Netflix anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners boosted too.

According to Eurogamer, Cyberpunk 2077’s concurrent player count peaked on September 16, reaching 37,000 and thus beating games like Eldern Ring, Destiny 2 and Grand Theft Auto 5, some normal games that always top the charts.

By September 18th, the weekend release of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime on Netflix, saw the game reaching the 85,555 a historic number for the game since its release in December 2020.

As I mentioned, it is not the first time that related thing resulted in a game gaining traction as CD Projekt Red revealed in an earnings report, that Cyberpunk 2077's recent sales surge was thanks to its effort on dealing with game errors and bugs.

Unfortunately that is the precise thing that ruled the almost 2 years tenure of the game, when after a massive marketing campaign and 8 years later after the initial reveal, Cyberpunk 2077 was release with the game in a state of having collected unchecked bugs that ruined the gameplay adn was the only known game in Playstation history to be delisted from the PS Store due the state of the game and Xbox history to be the first game to have a “performance issue warning” prior to be bought on Microsoft Store.

A few months ago it was reported that CD Projekt Red could not be entirely at fault as a QA (Quality Assurance) company called Quantic Lab failed some of its task and could have exaggerated their bug’s finding and fixing to land more contract, accusation that its CEO have defended the company to be a one-sided story.
