Today’s Internet and gaming eyes would be on Meta Platforms, Facebook’s parent company that in a few days will celebrate its first anniversary being an enterprise to absorb what was known as Facebook Inc. to house Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Oculus as subsidiaries.

The reason the Metaverse, where Mark Zuckerberg visualize a specific use of VR, AR and the Internett in one place only but to physically be there in an environment that is between real-life and virtual world, or an easy example, imagine all the virtual events that Fortnite had runned within the game, is that but a major global scale.

And to do that, we need a VR tool and here enters Oculus.

For years, Oculus has been the sole provider of gaming VR for PC and now with Oculus Quest 2 as its current consumer offering, it is time that Meta goes for the next level.

Originally known as Project Cambria, Meta Oculus Pro was presented and while gamers are the obvious vanguard of users, Meta expects that this $1,499 headset, be the next tool of work for everything related to Metaverse.

The new Oculus Pro has been claimed to have 37% more pixels per inch and 10% greater pixels per degree than the Meta Quest 2. The design of the Quest Pro is slimmer and more compact compared to the Quest 2, with its current lenses and a curved-cell battery design on the rear, which Meta claims is both the "the slimmest and most balanced VR device ever made."

Also, the Quest Pro features several improvements over the Quest 2, such as a new optical stack that replaces the Fresnel lenses found in the Quest 2. Meta also confirmed that the Quest Pro is the first device that is powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ platform, which is claimed to run at 50% more power than Meta Quest 2 with better thermal dissipation.

For the controllers, enter Quest Touch pro controllers, which offer built-in sensors on each controller, allowing you to track your position in a 3D space. Meta says the controllers are designed to provide stable stacking across all of your VR apps.

The Meta Quest Pro will be released on October 25th.

Despite the warnings that gaming exclusive consumers are not the target for the Quest Pro, Meta did announce embracing more 1st party studios confirming the purchase of the VR game developers Armature Studio, Camouflaj Team and Twisted Pixel.

Those three are notable acquisition as Armature Studio were the developers that helped Capcom on porting a VR version of Resident Evil PC, while Camouflaj Team were behind the once exclusive Marvel’s Iron Man Playstation VR game and as a first release, the very same game on Oculus Quest platform and finally Twisted Pixel are known for their work on Path of the Warrior, who confirmed that they are working on their next game and details will be shared soon.
