There seems to be problems in paradise with Take-Two Interactive, at least with its relationship with independent developmental studios as People Can Fly decided to publicly announce the ending of the partnership with a proposed game still in development.

People Can Fly are the developers of the game published by Square Enix, Outriders, and decided to announce the following on social media.

Apparently an original action-adventure that its development already reached the 2 years-old mark was bound for Take-Two Interactive serving as the publisher (I assume under the 2K brand) and Take-Two took the decision to end the partnership but no signal that Take-Two would buy the game for another 1st party studio to finish it.

Instead of discarding it and assuming that no mentioning of buying the potencial Intelectual Property, People Can Fly will continue the development and by the time the game is near ready to launch, it will be decided if they will self-publish or offer the game to a big company for publishing right.

Questions remains if this means that PCP’s relationship with Square Enix is now only limited to Outriders with no space on talking about a new game, but as you remember, Outriders itself had a rocky launch and Year 1 along with Square Enix making the game sharing the blame of misses on earnings.
