I guess that gaming shopping is coming early this week and not just the consumer side, but also corporations buying each other and while we are still waiting if Microsoft doesn’t get a legal dispute of its attempt to buy Activision Blizzard, some Internet veterans have new owners.

Fandom, a company known for enabling Wikipedia-like pages for everything in wiki format (as per being a company founded by Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales), has surprisingly announced the purchase of many of Red Vultures assets.

For the common gamers like us, its means that Fandom now will own after merger-approval, GameSpot, Metacritic, TV Guide, GameFAQs, Giant Bomb, Cord Cutters News, and Comic Vine.

Some of them are heavy duty names for independent gaming content creators and some may remember that is not the first time that Fandom and REd Ventures are not their original owners as CNET and CBS have also been holders of these companies.

Fandom said that they see this as a help to become a global fan platform to super serve entertainment and gaming fans as well as partners.

While no amount was published, the estimate by people with knowledge is that this transaction is valued at $50 million WAY LOWER than CBS sold many of them (that 2020 transaction was valued at $500 million).
