Evidently, CD Projekt Red would have loved the hype of Cyberpunk 2077 wasn’t interrupted by a rocky launch and a difficult full Year 1 after launching the game and while there has been quite a drama, there was a light at the end of the tunnel.
It was hard work and after hotfixes and patches that were worked around the clock and a big hyping boost thanks to the exclusive Netflix anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Cyberpunk 2077 has surpassed the mark of the 20 million copies sold.
It was four months ago that there was a signal that gamers were hoping for the best if Cyberpunk 2077 got its bugs fixed as CD Projekt Red acknowledged by then, that fixes up to that time helped boost sales.
And this month, the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime proved that Cyberpunk 2077 was destined to success, late, but success nonetheless.
A TLDR recap, after a massive marketing campaign and 8 years later after the initial reveal, Cyberpunk 2077 was release with the game in a state of having collected unchecked bugs that ruined the gameplay adn was the only known game in Playstation history to be delisted from the PS Store due the state of the game and Xbox history to be the first game to have a “performance issue warning” prior to be bought on Microsoft Store.
A few months ago it was reported that CD Projekt Red could not be entirely at fault as a QA (Quality Assurance) company called Quantic Lab failed some of its task and could have exaggerated their bug’s finding and fixing to land more contract, accusation that its CEO have defended the company to be a one-sided story.
