I think this practically is the news of the week that has nothing to do with corporate pissing contests or accusing each other of being the most Monopoly player and it is Axios and Famitsu interview with the head of Playstation family of first party studios that gave some light on what is Sony’s doing in gaming.

Hermen Hulst, current leader of Playstation Studios, confirmed a few aspects that many Playstation fans have been asking about in a media tour.

Of course, the purchases for more Playstation Studios and mainly Bungie as an independent subsidiary brought the question and Hulst indicated that currently developing live-service games are a joint venture by the same newly acquired studios & Sony's internal teams too, but warned that not all of them will use original IPs.

Also, we have to expect that those games will go for Playstation day one and I guess he referred to cases like Bungie who still got the right to develop games for PC and Xbox if interested.

Playstation Studios head also said unsurprisingly that the Playstation Studios titles are still the most profitable ones in a world where third party studios are trying their best to be the proper alternatives for gamers.

An important detail was also addressed and it is about more PS4 games being playable with gamers using PS5 and Sony will have a case-by-case evaluation but they could still come by.

Meanwhile, in its interview with Famitsu, the new thing revealed is that their in-house graphic motor engine, Decima engine, is being used by some of its partners and was directly named Horizon Forbidden West and Kojima Productions’s Death Stranding.

Finally, two important things and referred directly as a direct example to Ape Escape, Sony is working on bringing back franchises that haven’t been utilized in a LONG TIME.

And the other thing that probably will have people talking and YES, if you are not sold with the idea of more remasters of games that probably DON’T NEED YET, Sony is up to it whether you are aboard or not.
