It was an important day at polish gaming developer and publisher CD Projekt Red as there was a need to announce what they are working and a big corporate announcement that for some was surprising and for others, it is for the best.

In a strategy update presentation for shareholders, CD Projekt Red revealed what they are actually cooking and besides the first (and unfortunately only) expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 called Phantom Liberty, there are 5 new games in development.

The codenamed projects are Project Sirius, Project Polaris, Project Canis Majoris, Project Orion and Project Hadar.

The first three are all related to The Witcher franchise and Project Sirius is the first original The Witcher game that will explore a new original story for fans and new audience, meanwhile Project Polaris, we already knew that is the new main The Witcher game that was confirmed early this year and will serve as part of a new trilogy and it is aimed to have all game released in a 6 years timeline after the launch of the first one.

And then for The Witcher, a new multiplayer RPG experience as another original spinoff with Project Canis Majoris.

For Cyberpunk, Project Orion is the next game for Cyberpunk 2077 and while some outlets assure that this is a sequel, I DO remember that CD Projekt Red called originally to its investor some time ago, a spinoff of Cyberpunk 2077.

Finally, Project Hadar is the codename of the new Intelectual Property that CD Projekt Red has been researching for a time (also acknowledged to their investor in their last earning report), but still no major details were shared besides being in the conceptual phase.

Co-Founder still at company but no longer CEO

The Strategy Update also served for CD Project Red to announce that Marcin Iwinski, who co-founded the company, will step down as co-CEO, but will remain at the company functioning as an advisor to the board of directors.

But it is obvious that the troubled Cyberpunk 2077 initial launch and Year 1 campaign was a big troublesome time for the company even after all that was set & done (and fixed).

Also another corporate news is that CD Projekt Red will open local North American studios with the founding of two CD Projekt Red North America with two branches that will be known as Vancouber Hub and Boston Hub that will be integral part of the mentioned projects.

UPDATE

CD Projekt Red confirmed that the first task of the new branch of North American studios is actually the heavy work of Project Orion, the next game, either sequel/spinoff of Cyberpunk 2077, so the other studios can focus The Witcher's development and more deep work on Project Hadar.
