We knew that EA Origin had his days counted but some time had passed until Electronic Arts got some news for PC gamers that have bought games directly from them and practically Origin will be disconnected soon.
Electronic Arts confirmed that the EA Windows 10 app has evolved from BETA and is already in stable release, aiming to replace it entirely with EA Origin.
Origin is a digital distribution platform developed by Electronic Arts for purchasing and playing video games launched in 2011 as Electronic Arts’s desire to control every aspect and sell of his game, notoriously removing Crysis 2 from Steam and moving it exclusively to make a point.
Efforts started the very same day EA announced in September 2020 that Origin was going to be replaced and then resumed the relationship with third parties stores like Steam and Epic Games Stores.
As for the new EA app, Electronic Arts said that gamers should expect to have the fastest and lightest experience on PC, with a smart recommending system and automatic updates whenever games have it available.
Also, cross platform capabilities to find friends from Steam, Xbox and PlayStation, will be available as soon as you install the app or update it directly, while Origin users will be prompted to migrate completely soon.
