While Cloud Gaming is still gaining traction and maybe losing some (thanks to Phil Harrison’s management to Stadia), there are more manufacturers interested in capitalizing on the boom at the hand of Xbox Game Pass Cloud and now sum Turtle Beach.
Turtle Beach announced their newest hardwares named the Atom Controller and the Recon Cloud controller.
Starting with Atom first and evidently, is not the first time that Turtle Beach tried to be the thinking of bringing Nintendo Switch-like experience with mobile gaming, it is the first time that Cloud Gaming is the main target and thanks to be officially licensed as an Xbox Game Pass cloud hardware.
According to Turtle Beach, Atom’s versatile two-piece design and adjustable, spring-loaded smartphone clamps accommodate nearly every size Android 8.0+ smartphone on the market, with no need to remove phone cases. The two Atom modules use Turtle Beach’s proprietary 2.4GHz wireless link to stay connected to each other when gaming, while low-latency Bluetooth® ensures a reliable, lag-free connection with Android smartphones when cloud gaming on Xbox Game Pass, GeForce Now, Steam Link, and more.
Also it was presented the Recon Cloud Controller which also is not a first foray on custom 3rd party controllers but yet again, Cloud Gaming is the goal.
Designed for Xbox and Cloud Gaming, the Recon Cloud Combines Turtle Beach’s Signature Gamepad Design and Exclusive Audio Features with Wireless Freedom for Mobile Gamers as Well as Wired Capability on Xbox and Windows PCs, according to TB.
The Recon Cloud controller connects to Android 8.0+ devices and compatible Windows PCs using low-latency Bluetooth®, and it has a massive 30+ hour battery life with quick, play-and-charge capability for all-day gaming when on-the-go.
For players that like to be at home, Recon can connect to their Xbox console or Windows PC with its 10-foot braided USB cable and access to Turtle Beach’s audio features like Superhuman Hearing, custom audio presets and more for the ultimate audio advantage.
The Atom Controller will be available on November 14th and can be preordered for $99.99, while the Recon Controller will retail at $99.99, both at Turtle Beach main store.
