Finally after years of ignoring the AAA gaming community with the notable exception of its PES soccer game series, Japanese Konami have returned with a refreshed offering for their survival horror franchise Silent Hill.

We have a total of 3 new games announced and a return of theaters for Silent Hill and were presented as followed:

Silent Hill 2 Remake

Being Team Silent's opportunity to capitalize on the success of 1998’s Silent Hill, Silent Hill 2 was launched as a Playstation 2 exclusive in 2001 ported to PC, Xbox and PS3 as a HD remaster (along with Silent Hill 3).

In Silent Hill 2, we play James Sunderland, a widower who journeys to the town of Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his dead wife informing him that she is waiting there for him.

For the remake, Konami revealed that we should expect highly detailed graphics, new voice over work, and new music. The remake will also feature a new, over-the-shoulder camera perspective. Original Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka and artist Masahiro Ito are collaborating on the remake’s development.

Silent Hill 2 Remake is a PlayStation 5 console timed-exclusive and after the expiration of its time period, a Windows PC version should follow.

A brand new Silent Hill game will be a new prequel

Konami announced Silent Hill f, and probably this is a temporary title name and it will be the first origins game in years, considered as a main series but a bigger prequel than the post Silent Hill 3 games.

Silent Hill f is “a completely new story set in 1960’s Japan featuring a beautiful, yet horrifying world,” Konami says and will be developed by a studio located in Taiwan and staff includes Ryukishi07, the anonymous creator of the When They Cry visual novel series; “kera,” a character and creature designer; producer Motoi Okamoto, formerly of Nintendo, who worked on Luigi’s Mansion and Wii Play; and studio NeoBards, which has co-developed a number of games with Capcom including Resident Evil Origins Collection created the multiplayer modes Resident Evil Re:Verse and Resident Evil Resistance and finally, Onimusha: Warlords.

No words on how long the game will take to be released and which platforms.

Rebooting Silent Hill for theaters

Konami confirmed that a new Silent Hill movie is in development and will be named Return To Silent Hill and will be rebooted completely unrelated to the original 2006 Silent Hill Movie.

Probably the game will be loosely based on Silent Hill 2 as the settings take place where a man makes his way to Silent Hill in search of the lost love of his life. Instead, he finds a total nightmare of monsters and horror, including the infamous Pyramid Head, one of the series’ most recognizable and famous characters.

No target premiere date was shared.

A triforce of Konami, Annapurna and No Code Studio brings us back to Silent Hill too

Last gaming major announcement included the collaboration of Konami, Annapurna and No Code Studio that will bring Silent Hill: Townhall.

Silent Hill: Townhall appears to be a spinoff and maybe a new experiment as No Code creative director Jon McKellan stated the game respects the Silent Hill franchise, while doing "something a little bit different" with the series' source material.

Evidently, Konami is not compromising too much on Silent Hill content now having other two major games (2 Remake and f) but wants to capitalize on the momentum.

Also, this game has no apparent release date nor gaming platform to be available but, I get the feeling that this game could make a mobile (re)debut (Japan market already had a Silent Hill mobile game), but this is my complete speculation.
