Yes, yes, I said NO MORE RUMORS, but this time the newest edition of “GeeZus bending the rules”, I felt the necessity as there is a massive interest on the development of regulators other giving the thumbs up or down to allow Microsoft to buy Activision Blizzard.
And it seems that Microsoft do want to challenge any approach of scrutiny and might get what it wants as sources from Politico, the regulators from The European Zone might emulate UK’s Phase 2 for further scrutiny on the transaction.
Why? Because Microsoft allowed the term of submitting paperworks, including commitments on how the purchase can be in the interest of the consumer, that expired yesterday OCt. 31.
While it remains to see if Microsoft deliberately did not want to compromise just to win a “thumbs up” or not, Phase 2 is now more a possibility than ever, allowing more time to Microsoft pause the transaction and face yet another roadblock on buying Activision Blizzard.
The EU would be the second but more big trouble for Microsoft if they decided to flag the transaction and enact Phase 2 for further scrutiny which would further delay Microsoft’s goal of buying Activision Blizzard.
Were are in less than a month of the first anniversary since Microsoft announced its intention to buy Activision Blizzard for nearly 69 billion dollars in midst of its workforce environment crisis within the gaming conglomerate after various accusation and settlement described and hostile and sexualized within Activision Blizzard in which CEO Bobby Kotick has been not doing anything and exposed to have situations on his own.
Some detractors see the transaction as an official way for Kotick to walk away without serious repercussions and a big paycheck at the end of the day.
