The day has arrived and Google has announced to start the refund process for all Stadia gamers that had made direct purchases in the Stadia Store and Google Store (online, not the physical pop-ups nor Best Buy).
“Starting November 9, 2022, Stadia will attempt to automatically process refunds for all purchases of games, add-on content and subscriptions fees other than Stadia Pro made through the Stadia Store. We ask for your patience as we work through each transaction and ask that you refrain from contacting Customer Support as they will not be able to expedite your refund during this time. We still expect the majority of refunds to be processed by January 18th, 2023.”
Problem is that they will begin the process automatically without asking first how you want the refund, with cases (like mine), that payment methods used before no longer exist.
For this scenario, Google has also asked for patience and that a form will be sent directly to you for all the transactions that were declined but the automated first attempt is a requirement and still can find the logic of all this.
My case, I began seeing all my paid transactions via Paypal being the first refunds that I received and via the Google Pay history, I already see transactions with declined refunds so probably we need to sit comfortably if that is the case.
