Early this weekend, there was some good news from the Pokémon Anime world as Japan witnessed a dramatic, yet a main victory for Satoshi or for us in the West as Ash Ketchum.

While the news was already flashing from Japan, early yesterday’s morning, The Pokémon Company confirmed that the lates Pokémon Ultimate Journeys anime episode, The Finals IV: Partner, had Satoshi or for us Ash Ketchum defeating Dande (Leon in the West), making Ash the newest Masters Eight Tournament of the Pokémon World Coronation Series Champion.

With the release of Pokémon Violet and Scarlet, it is obvious that the anime, historically a co-marketing tool, will begin transitioning from the Pokémon Sword/Shield to the newest entry in the Pokémon series.

Questions remains if Ash will continue to be the main protagonist, from the OG Indigo days to today, Ash was basically based on Pokémon creator Satoshi Tajiri as rumors has stated that for Pokémon Violet/Scarlet, we will be seeing biggest changes and having gone full circle since 25 years ago, raises the question that we are seeing a new star for the Pokémon anime or Ash is finally releasing Pikachu from its roster.

Talking about Pickachu and a little spoiler here if you are awaiting for the western version of the episode, was the last Pokémon standing after Dragonite, Gengar, Lucario, Sirfetch’d, and Dracovish were taken down and ironically Leon’s last Pokémon, a Charizard, lost against the most powerful electrical mouse of the Pokémon world.

While it is recognized as its second major league champion, I wanted to remind you that while the Orange Islands League was a filler to the transition from Indigo to Johto, Ash DID WIN the Orange league.
