Yesterday (pardon my lateness but offline work has been grinding all right), Capcom took its turn to have the Resident Evil Showcase and what we expected is more Resident Evil 4 Remake and maybe some details on what to expect on Resident Evil Village Gold Edition.
But yes, Capcom did deliver and we learned that while the game’s lore will remain much intact as it was in 2005, some change are obviously noticed like extra scenes that were not in the original game, so yes, expect more horror balanced than the 50% horror 50% action that Resident Evil 4 originally became.
Also, Leon S. Kennedy, main character of the game (returning from RE2) can now move while shooting and a new parry mechanic.
And a new footage of Ashley Graham, The President’s daughter, shooting at someone fully infected with La Plaga parasite as a new material for the game.
Resident Evil 4 Remake will be released on March 24, 2023 for Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC.
Playstation 5 users that buy the PS4 version will earn a free PS5 upgrade and makes it weird that Xbox One doesn’t get the game nor the Smart Delivery treatment.
Re:Verse is coming with Resident Evil Village Gold Edition
Pretty much everything else from the Showcase was indeed Resident Evil Gold Edition, that will bring the DLC Shadow Of Rose, taking 18 years after the events of RE Village and has Rose Winters visiting the mysterious European Village that saw her father sacrifice so she, her mother Mia and Chris Redfield could escape to safety, to learn about herself and see if she can be free of her powers, gained via being born as Ethan got mixed The Mold in his DNA at the beginning of Resident Evil 7 Biohazard and explain why he could endure inhuman injuries and still standing up.
The main original games will win a over-the-shoulder third-person view and finally The Mercenaries mini-game will gain Chris Redfield, Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, and Karl Heisenberg.
Finally, the new free standalone multiplayer Resident Evil Re:Verse will see the light of day when everything gets launched on October 28th for Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and PC.
