For Alienware, the once face of serious Gaming PC and now a Dell subsidiary will have a round 2 for  its in-house developed gaming controller Nyx and the concept got a second generation that takes the best of Xbox Series S/X Controller and Playstation DualSense.

If you haven’t heard of this or the first generation before, it is fine because Dell never intended to this gadget goes on the market anytime soon, but companies trend to have project going on as Research & Development and uses events like CES 2023 to have something to show and if demands “demand it”, then it turns on an official product.

But for your consideration, Dell designed the Nyx second generation with the thinking of the gamer that probably needs its controller to do more than just gaming, including a fingerprint sensor for added security and also, assign any task like gaming related functioning.

Also with Nyx, you can remap the buttons of the controller and see an intelligent overlay that tells you what button does what in each game and shift buttons which essentially double the number of front buttons available.

Or more simply, one button could have two functions: a regular one and a different one when you hold down the shift button.

There’s also a scroll wheel function for mimicking a mouse wheel and a touchpad for fast reading as a direct case of usage that I can think of.

Finally, the controller has wildly advanced features like customizable trigger response to response in cases like FPS, to recoil and type of firearm at disposal.

Again, don’t expect Dell or Alienware to try to sell this in the market soon, but it will be nice about the possibilities.
