Despite the unpleasant surprise that Cyberpunk 2077 first and unfortunately only expansion called Phantom Liberty will not be free, CD Projekt Red claims that the expansion is the biggest thing they have ever worked on post-launch content of a game.
So they claim via investor relations manager Marek Bugdoł in declaration for a local Polish Newspaper, which he was quoted:
“We hope that the new adventures and characters will attract those who are already familiar with Cyberpunk and also encourage many new players to start playing Night City.”
According to Bugdoł, CD Projekt Red did not go low on the budget for the expansion, slated as a spy-thriller expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 set in an all new district of Night City.
The game already features Keanu Reeves as voice/3D Modeled actor and will be reprising his role as Johnny Silverhand and at The Game Awards, it was revealed that actor Idris Alba will be playing FIA Agent for the New United States of America Solomon Reed (original character, not previously featured on the tablet top RPG Cyberpunk or Cyberpunk 2023, V3 or Red).
Finally and before Reeves and Alba were confirmed, it was already in the air that actress Sasha Gray will play a DJ of the fictional radio station 89.7 Growl FM.
Aside from the celebrities taking place in the story, it is expected that the expansion is a whole new experience itself where more customization of V will be available, including new sets of new weapons and tech.
While this is a great update, Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty still has no release date and it is strongly suggested that it should be arriving in the first half of 2023 as the game itself is slated to gain a “Game Of The Year” Edition by the end of the year.
